Good Company, Good Movie, Good Food, Horrible Service
Yesterday was a wonderful day. I went over and hung out with the parents, watched the races with my Dad, and did some laundry in the interim. What a great Indy 500. I was really pulling for the Andretti’s at the end. I really thought that Marco was going to pull it off. I understand the “i could have/should have blocked him” thought, but he earned my respect for racing it clean. A little later we met my Sister and her man at the Spectrum and saw “The Davinci Code.” It was good and entertaining. It varied from the book in parts, and I do understand it would have been a four hour movie if it hadn’t been edited, but I still like the details of the book better. I wonder if they will do one on “Angel’s and Demon’s” also. Highly unlikely. The church seemed to have an influence on the studio here and tamed down some of the conspiracy stuff. The point is definitely made though. I think it would be a great movie, and was a better book, in my opinion.
As I write this it seems as if the ghost in my house is being mischievous. For no apparent reason my framed diploma had shifted itself and my graduation chord is all over the place. After I corrected its position, and went back to writing, some of my video-games on another shelf started to shift. Maybe I am being told that it is time to reorganize those shelves. =-D
Back to the day. After the movie, we went to Javier’s for dinner. My brother, just back from a day trip to Mexico, joined us at the last mninute. That was a nice suprise. It was neat to have the whole family (including sis’s BF) together for dinner. Like the title said the food was good and so was the decor inside the restaurant. For me, that is about where the good ended. Our waiter was awful. He couldn’t get an order right, and took forever to bring us the simple things, like another place setting. The busboy would just barge in to refill the water and lean all the way over the table to do it. Besides that, it was just so loud in there that it made conversing a little hard. I think it was the “Cantina” atmosphere, as inn the open space. I just was very unimpressed with the service. It was not like there was a lack of help either. Employees were everywhere (I know, they kept brushing by me) It was still a great time. I love my family and it was neat to hear about my parents trip to Israel.
Off to work for me. I am real excited because I have some creative things brewing in my head and can not wait to put those juices in action. There are a few blogs/pdcasts that I have been reading along with the wonderful people in my life that are inspiring, not to mention Mother Nature herself. Sometimes one just needs look at things from a different perspective.
I write these because it is an outlet for me and involves things I am interested in. If any of thins interests you, or you have any comments, please let me know. It is always nice to hear from those who are reading my blog. It is ok to lurk also, but I have noticed that I have picked up some newer readers lately.
