Car Trouble
It was a wonderful day yesterday. I was outrunning errands and stopped by my parents house to pick up a couple things and realized that I had forgotten my keys to their house. Then I stopped by my brothers work and he let me borrow his. I stopped at the bank and when I went to start my car all I got was click click click click.. Fuck! At first I thought it was the battery, and after my brother brought some jumper cables and it didn’t turn over, fears crept in. I thought it may be something worse. I was at about 4000 miles since the last oil change and was afraid that I may have seized the engine or something. Rationality told me that wasn’t the case, but my mind ran for a bit. I called my mechanic and he recommended a tow company. They told me about 2 hours. great, I thought to myself, while worrying how much this is going to cost me. In the meantime I called Dad. Just a heads up to him in case I might need a ride from the mechanics if it was something serious. He suggested I call the insurance company for roadside assistance, and it might be covered. He (and my mechanic) also said it sounded like the battery bad it might have been bad jumper cables before. When the roadside assistance came along the jump worked..yay! I cancelled the tow and drove the car to the mechanics to make sure it wasn’t something worse than the battery, like the alternator. Luckily it wasn’t and a new battery fixed the issue. I didn’t get all the errands done I wanted (3 hours in a parking lot and another couple at the mechanics while waiting for the battery to get there-of course they were out of stock of the one that fit my car =-P ). Luckily I was able to get home and relax, was the day off and enjoy the company of someone who makes me smile inside. Such a nerd. Overall it was a great day, regardless of what was sent my way. Sometimes the best check of serenity is when things are going all wrong.
Today I get to golf with a friend in a golf tournament with my parent’s church group. It will be a lot of fun. Then coffee with another new friend. I enjoy connecting with people, as it helps with my spiritual condition. Maybe more pictures form the golf course also!
