This is my fear and that's why I've never had the courage to get a "real" bike for the street and clips for the pedals. I stick to my sort of "mountain bike" and regular shoes. I do have clips for spinning class. However, on the street, I'm just terrified I'm going to come to a signal and not be able to get my foot released, fall over, and get RUN over. I've been trying to talk myself into a different bike, but now I read this from an experienced rider and well...I think I'll remain w/regular shoes for road riding. :) I'm glad to hear you are okay!

Heheh Been there, done that. You lucked out though. Every time I have a slow speed fall over, it's in front of 15-20 bike club guys!
