A fine line between Comedy and Blasphemy

I just got a message from an old friend, who when I met him was pretty straight edge even when I was drinking and drugging. I used to help him out as his drum tech, and had many good times with him. About the time I got sober 16 years ago, he started dabbling in pills and hard alcohol, then a few years later he went off the deep end. I watched him spiral downward, and every so often he would resurface, looking worse and worse. I tried to give him every opportunity I got when I was trying to get on my feet, but he wasn’t ready. He still had some good ideas left. After not hearing from him for quite a while, myself and others figured him to be dead.
A while ago another friend who moved to Wisconsin informed me that he had looked her up and they were helping him clean up. I was very happy, but due to his track record, I was a little skeptical. It has been a couple years since then, and I hadn’t heard much about him, until that same friend made a Facebook page for him.
I just received a message from him saying that he has been clean three years and would like to get back in touch. It brought tears to my eyes for a couple reasons. The main reason is that he is not suffering and fighting the battle I know too well and that he has a second chance due to some humbling experiences and a little divine and not-so-devine intervention.
I am excited to actually talk to him this afternoon.

How cool was that episode?
for me it was just enough answers, but enough twists to keep me coming back for more.
I love the way the show ended. There were so many unexpecteds and “why didn’t I think of that?” moments.
When Hiro didn’t kill Sylar, but saved Ondo instead, I thought the prophecy was taking another turn.
Niki seeing Jessica in the mirror shard to help her. I am wondering what Niki was looking at behind Mika’s back in the mirror. Did her and Jessica just meld? or switch places? She had the strength to pull door handles off.
Also do I sense a little family? Mika, D.L., Niki, and Molly?
There is some sort of super braintrust that seems to be trying to control events/politics/power.
Is Nathan Superman-like? we know he can fly, but is he invulnerable? Yes he has bled when punched, but is there more? He didn’t seem to be blistering when he grabbed Peter.
Hiro being throw seemingly into a building, but transporting at the last second to, as we saw in the last segment, land in the past and end up in a battle that included Kensei wielding the sword and someone who looked a lot like his dad. We do not know how long he will stay there or if he is even seen by the people on the battlefield.

The writers on this are great.They put subtle pop culture references into lots of things. At the end did the eclipse look anything like Ringu to anyone? I knew I had seen that somewhere, but my friend Alex was the one who pinpointed it. Also how about Hiro seeing the horsemen in the field? Evil Dead II anyone? (Thanks Jesse). Even in previous episodes they have done this. George Takai’s character, Kaito Nakamura, had the license plate NCC-1701on his car. That was the number of the U.S.S. Enterprise in Star Trek.

Other points-repricussions of bomb not going off in city:
*Patrelli campaign?- Did Niki kill Candice (shapeshifter)? Could she become Nathan and continue campaign
*Did Nathan let go of Peter and somehow survive
*Did Peter himself still somehow survive? (highly unlikely, but if his brain didn’t rupture, then he could regenerate)
*Where is Sylar? How bad is he hurt? We have seen the cockroach before when we thought he was dead. ( The Fix )
*Did Sylar crawl down the manhole himself or did someone else drag him away? (thanks Marco)
*Where was the Hatian this episode?
*Did Linderman/Patrelli have enough power to keep the area surrounding Kirby Plaza free of police/pedestrians?
*How powerful is Kaito Nakamura?
*Was Charles Deveaux (Simones Dad) the one Molly was afraid of trying to locate? He can see the invisible, maybe he has more powers? Could he be part of the Linderman/Petrelli/Nakamura power struggle?
*Did Peter have a flashback or did he unknowingly time travel while unconscious?
*Why didn’t Peter fly himself? (thanks Marco)
